Mary Troendle

Mary Margaret Troendle, 86, of Waukon passed away peacefully Friday, June 19, 2020. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 25 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lansing with a visitation two hours before Mass from 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the church in Lansing. Rev. John Moser will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Lansing with a fellowship luncheon following back at the church.

She was born December 18, 1933 in Waukon Junction, the daughter of Ed and Violet Donahue. She started her life on Donahue Road, near Waukon Junction in Yellow River Forest.

Mary married Bill Troendle, and the two would raise five children together. Mary farmed on Faegre Prairie Road. While together they started the Red Barn Resort and Campground outside of Lansing, and also had an antique store in town. Mary worked for the Decorah School System for 15 years. Mary loved her life and family most of all, and she also enjoyed garage sales, quilting and going to auctions. She enjoyed people, and she loved to talk about all life experiences.

Mary is survived by her children, Donald Troendle of Cincinnati, OH, Randy (Patti) Troendle of Cottage Grove, MN and Dennis (Debra) Troendle of Lansing; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; siblings; and nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her sons, Bill Troendle and Gary Troendle; and her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mary’s honor may be given to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lansing. Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Lansing is helping the family with the arrangements.
