New officer, new leaders sworn in for Waukon Police ...

The Waukon Police Department had several of its members officially sworn into new positions prior to the start of the Monday, August 3 meeting of the Waukon City Council. In the top photo, Dustin Harrington (left) is sworn in by Waukon Mayor Pat Stone (right). Harrington is a 2012 graduate of Waukon High School. He will be attending the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy starting August 31 with a return date of December 18 before taking part in the Field Training Officer program.

In the photo below, Mayor Pat Stone (right) also officially swore in Paul Wagner and Luke Inglett (left to right at left) to their respective positions of Police Chief and Assistant Police Chief they were appointed to in October of 2019. Following the retirement of former Waukon Police Chief Phil Young in late 2019, Chief Wagner was promoted from his position as Assistant Chief that he had held since 2014, having started his career in law enforcement with the New Albin Police Department in 2004 before joining the Waukon Police Department in 2007. Wagner graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in 2005 and completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Upper Iowa University in 2013. Officer Inglett was likewise promoted to Assistant Chief, having served with the Waukon Police Department since February of 2018 and being a police officer in Lansing prior to that since 2015. He graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in 2016. Standard photos by Joe Moses.
