Hacker, Nelson & Co. announces promotions within its next generation of leadership

Hacker, Nelson & Co., P.C. is announcing the promotion of eight Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) to the position of Principals of the firm, including a pair with local ties to the Waukon area. CPAs Brent Berns, Kelly Brickley, Ryan Bullerman, Christi Meyer, Todd Muhlbauer, Michelle O’Neill, Steve Samec and Amanda Webb join Ken Keune and Neil Schraeder as owners and Principals of the company.

Michelle O’Neill has worked in the Hacker, Nelson & Co. office in Waukon for many years and is the lone Waukon office staff member listed within the promotions, with all others being with the firm’s Decorah or New Hampton office locations. Brent Berns has been a long-time employee of the firm’s Decorah office, and he is a 1991 graduate of Waukon High School.

This new leadership team has experience in all facets of accounting, auditing and taxation, and has served clients from the Decorah, New Hampton and Waukon business locations for many years. Ken Keune, current Co-Managing Principal of the firm says, “We are happy to recognize the contributions of these CPAs and their additions to the success of the company. Hacker Nelson has grown because of the efforts of the whole employee team and dedication to our clients, colleagues, and communities we serve.”

Co-Managing Principal, Neil Schraeder adds, “This group of incoming leaders brings a proven track record of client advocacy and looking out for the company and its employees. Ken and I will work alongside these professionals to position the firm for continued success in providing client solutions, supporting the employee team, and a smooth transfer of leadership. The firm also congratulates Joe Bouska as he retires as a Principal. Joe will continue to work on a part-time basis to introduce his clients to these new Principals.
