Marilyn Jean was born July 7, 1940 in Luana to Theodore and Pearl (Wilke) Timmerman. She was baptized May 22, 1942 by the Rev. Harvey W. Radwege at the Pilgrim E.U.B. White Church in Monona. Marilyn attended the Figi Country School through the eighth grade and Monona High School in Monona.

Marilyn was united in marriage to Albert Moose January 19, 1957 by the Rev. A.W. Ebert at the Pilgrim E.U.B. White Church in Monona. Four sons were born to this union. Over the years she took a great amount of pride in preparing home cooked meals for family and friends.

Homemade bread, chocolate chip cookies, cinnamon rolls, pies and apple kuchen were some of her favorites to make. Nobody went away from her table hungry.

Marilyn enjoyed berry picking, gardening and fishing the Mississippi River and the Yellow River in her younger years. She also enjoyed playing Michigan Rummy, hosting the annual pre-deer hunting party, cookouts in the back pasture and especially when the Hermeiers came to the farm, cutting wood, supper and a good game of cards. She was a wonderful mother and housewife who also helped with milking the cows and all farm chores while farming in Moose Hollow/Suttle Creek.

Marilyn worked for over 10 years for Wilke’s/Moore’s Grocery Store in Monona. She was a member of the Living Faith United Methodist Parish in Monona, including the UMW and coordinating funeral dinners for many years, and was a member of the group “The Young and the Rest of Us”. Above all things, Marilyn loved all of her family dearly and enjoyed attending their school activities over the years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
