Waukon Middle School Football Camp for those entering seventh, eighth grades is August 22-24

The Waukon High School and Middle School football coaching staffs are planning to host the 2021 Waukon Indian Middle School Football Camp August 22-24. The camp, run by the Waukon football coaching staffs with help from current and former high school players, is a non-contact camp aimed at teaching the fundamentals of offensive and defensive play for the Waukon football program.

Participants should plan to attend camp in shorts and a t-shirt, and should bring football cleats. Camp will take place at the middle school practice football field west of the Waukon High School parking lot.

The middle school camp for students entering seventh and eighth grades this fall will be held Sunday-Tuesday, August 22-24. The camp will be held from 5-7 p.m. both Sunday and Monday evenings, and then from 3:35-5:35 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

Those planning to attend the middle school camp are encouraged to completely fill out the registration form accompanying this article (above), or one distributed to them, and return it with the $25 registration fee to the address listed on the form prior to the August 14 camp deadline. Registration forms will be accepted right up to the first day of camp.

Online forms are available on the Allamakee Community School District website, www.allamakee.k12.ia.us. Paper copies (where applicable) are available during student registration or at the Waukon Middle School office during regular hours.

It is suggested that the following documentation be completed prior to the Middle School Football Camp. This material definitely needs to be completed before the start of Middle School football practice Wednesday, August 25 and can be turned in during camp or at the Waukon Middle School office:

• complete an athletic physical and form (paper copy), after July 1. Be sure to include doctor and parent signatures.
• medical consent form (paper copy).
• concussion protocol screening form (paper copy)with all required signatures.
• good conduct form (online) and insurance release form (online) - must be completed electronically (these cannot be printed) and by both the parent and student-athlete; available with e-registration on the Allamakee Community School District website, www.allamakee.k12.ia.us.
• heads-up concussion form (online) - completed electronically (cannot be printed) by both the parent and the student-athlete; available with e-registration on the Allamakee Community School District website, www.allamakee.k12.ia.us.

Middle School football equipment check-out will be held Monday, August 23 in the Middle School gym at 3:30 p.m. This will include locker and lock assignments.
