Kassie Foltz

Kassie Leigh (Hughes) Foltz, age 43, passed away Friday, September 24, 2021 at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, MN. Memorial services were held Friday, October 1 at Frankville Community Presbyterian Church, Frankville with Pastor Karla Johnson as the Officiant. Burial followed at Frankville Cemetery, Frankville.

Kassie was born February 4, 1978 to Barry and Marsha (Schroeder) Hughes in Lawrence, KS. She attended Lawrence High School and lived in Lawrence until 1999 when she moved to Frankville. Kassie was united in marriage to Mike Foltz November 17, 2014.

The light of Kassie’s life was her son, Maxwell Hughes. He was her pride and joy and she couldn’t be more proud of her boy.  Kassie enjoyed going to the races, cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, and her visits back to Lawrence. She had a heart of gold. She was known as “Nana” to the children she loved as her own, and was referred to as “Mama Kassie” to many as her door was always open for people to stop by to chat or have a good heart-to-heart conversation.

Kassie is survived by her husband, Mike Foltz of Frankville; her siblings, Tim Kochanski of Arlington, VA and Andrea (Dan) Krause of Pardeeville, WI; and her niece and nephew, Hannah and Gage Krause. She is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

Kassie was preceded in death by her son, Maxwell; her parents, Barry and Marsha; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
