Peggy Berg

Peggy A. Berg, 68, of Waukon died Monday, October 4, 2021 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Friends were able to greet the family Sunday, October 10 at Martin-Grau Funeral Home in Waukon.

Peggy Ann Berg was born January 24, 1953 in Postville, the daughter of Leo and Dorothy (Fox) Thornton. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Postville, graduated from Postville High School in 1971 and attended NICC in Calmar for two years.

For 15 years, Peggy worked at Northern Engraving and also worked at IOCO Convenience Store, both in Waukon. While at Northern Engraving, Peggy loved the people she worked with and the friendships she developed there were some of her most treasured relationships.

Peggy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved her English bulldogs: Gunner Joe, Tilli Joe, Harley and Nara.

Survivors include her son, Benji (fiancée Raeann Stones) Berg of Castle Pines, CO; her significant other, Russ Dahlstrom of Waukon; her son-in-law, August Schubert of Rowan; three grandchildren, AJ Schubert, and Lincoln and Darby Berg; a brother, Ronald (Lee) Thornton of Arlington; and a half-brother, Billy Harris of Postville.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Jami Schubert, who died in 2020.
