Doris Lorraine Winters was born April 9, 1931 in Jefferson Township, rural Allamakee County, the daughter of Carlton and Abigail (Livingood) Winters. Doris grew up in rural Waukon, where she attended country schools and worked on the family farm until her early twenties. She moved to town and worked at the Soda Grill where she met Richard Clark, who she married and had two sons with.

February 15, 1973, she married childhood friend William J. Walsh in West Union. William R. Walsh joined the family after they were married. They enjoyed raising three boys, going to coffee with local friends, and had 14 wonderful years together after retirement. In 2015, they moved to Kalona to be closer to her children.

Doris enjoyed spending time outdoors working in her flower gardens and sitting by her fish pond. She spent a lot of her free time crocheting and gifting her creations to friends, family and charity. Her most treasured time was spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, relishing in all of their new life experiences.

Doris is survived by her husband, Bill, of Kalona; three sons: Steve (Jenny) Clark of Waukee, Brian (Shelly) Clark of North Liberty and Bill (Jeannie) Walsh of Lansing; four grandchildren: Cameron and Isabella Clark and Melissa and Daniel Walsh; and two great-grandchildren, Maggie and Gabe Clark.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Genevieve; and five brothers: Virgil, Lynn, Clinton, Delbert and Wesley Winters.

Casketbearers are Cameron Clark, Jim, Ron and Ray Winters, Ray Burroughs and Mike Rood.
