Waukon boys basketball team picks up first win of the season in split of pair of home games heading into the holiday break

The Waukon boys basketball team wrapped up the 2021 portion of its season schedule with a split of two games at home to earn the Indians’ first victory of the 2021-2022 season. Playing on back-to-back nights early in the week prior to starting the holiday break from school and competition, the bucket Tribe pieced together a 51-47 comeback triumph over Oelwein Monday, December 20 before suffering a 93-33 loss to Decorah the following night, Tuesday, December 21.

Now holding a 1-6 record on the season and still in search of their first Northeast Iowa Conference victory, the Indians will return to action after the holidays with their busiest week of the entire season. They open that week hosting Kee Monday, January 3 before hosting Crestwood Thursday, January 6 in a make-up game from December 10, traveling to Charles City Friday, January 7 and playing Turkey Valley at Upper Iowa University Saturday, January 8. The Tribe will then play at La Crescent, MN Tuesday, January 11 before traveling to Crestwood Friday, January 14.
