Wendy Gress-Yearous

Wendy Sue Gress- Yearous, 60, of Monona died Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at her home in Monona. Funeral Service was held Tuesday, January 11 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona with Rev. Erika Lenth as the officiant. Burial followed in the Oakland Cemetery in Waukon. Memorials may be sent to the MFL Ambulance, P.O. Box 65, Monona, IA 52159.

Wendy was born September 9, 1961 to John “Jack” William and Gale Marie (Kurth) Bissell in Guttenberg. She graduated from MFL High School in 1979 and attended NICC in Calmar for a brief time for Nursing.

September 7, 2013, Wendy was united in marriage with Clay Yearous. Wendy enjoyed many things in life. She loved to travel and volunteer for the PFFWCF summer camp for burn-injured youth. She was a great baker, and enjoyed quilting and sewing. Wendy spent most of her days watching her grandson, who she adored. She volunteered for MFL ambulance, and helped others whenever she could. She also worked making the donuts at Casey’s on the weekends.

Wendy enjoyed deer hunting and making memories with her family. When she had free time she enjoyed camping with her granddaughters.

Surviving Wendy are her mother, Gale Bissell of Monona; three children, Rae Anna Gebhardt of Oelwein, Tyler Gress (Emily Clauson) of Monona and Melita (Tyler) Andreae of Garnavillo; six grandchildren, Cody, Karston, McKenna, Leigha, Laynie and Bray; one great-grandchild, Bryson; and five siblings, Cindy (Danny) Hertrampf of Cassville, WI, Kristy Meier of Cedar Rapids, Mary Bissell of Monona, Jerry (Darlene) Bissell of Postville and Marty (Robin) Bissell of Monona.

Wendy was preceded in death by her father, John “Jack” Bissell; her husband, Clay Yearous; and her two brothers, John Bissell and Bradley Bissell.

Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Monona assisted the family with arrangements.
