William Ronnfeldt

William N. Ronnfeldt, age 84, of Omaha, NE passed away February 25, 2022. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 3 from 5-7 p.m. at the West Center Chapel, located at 7805 West Center Road in Omaha, NE. A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, March 4 at 9 a.m. at Omaha National Cemetery with military honors. Funeral service will be held Friday, March 4 at 11 a.m. at Rejoice! Lutheran Church, 2556 South 138th Street in Omaha, NE.

William N. Ronnfeldt was born March 31, 1937 in rural Lansing to Chris and Nora (Dundee) Ronnfeldt. His parents moved to Waterville in 1940. Willie graduated from Waterville High School in 1955, and he entered the U.S. Air Force in 1955 following his high school graduation.

Besides enjoying a 30-year career as an Air Traffic Controller, Bill became a private pilot and an instructor pilot. He also enjoyed observing any automobile racing, and lake boating was a pleasure. Family travel vacations took them to many locations - flying, driving or by RV. In retirement, six years were spent in full-time RV to 48 states and visiting family and friends. About three years of his service time in the U.S. Air Force were in France.

Bill is survived by his wife, Karen M. Ronnfeldt of Omaha, NE; his son, Roy K. Ronnfeldt of Williams; his daughter, Ann M. (Rodney) Schram of Omaha, NE; his grandchildren, Hillary Ronnfeldt (Austin Pigsley) and Noah Ronnfeldt (Emily Sletten); his brother, Robert Ronnfeldt of McGregor; his sister, Janice (James) Pfiffner of Harpers Ferry; his sister-in-law, Ellen Ronnfeldt of Waukon; and his nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by parents, Nora and Christopher; his daughter-in-law, Margaret Ronnfeldt; his brothers, Walter, Vernon and Alfred; and an infant sister, Marietta.
