Margaret "Marg" Hogan

Margaret “Marg” Mary Hogan, 92, of Lansing died Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Thornton Manor in Lansing. Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, March 29 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing with Rev. Sean Smith as the celebrant. Burial followed at Gethsemane Cemetery in Lansing.

Memorials may be given in Marg’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association and Thornton Manor in Lansing.

Margaret Mary was born April 27, 1929 to Eugene and Dorothy (Thornton) Brennan in the Wexford area. She graduated with the Class of 1947 from Immaculate Conception Catholic High School and furthered her education with a BA in Business and Education at Clarke College, graduating in 1951.

August 6, 1955, Margaret was united in marriage with John Hogan at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing. After Marg graduated college and in her early married years, she taught at La Porte and Hopkinton Schools. In 1957, Marg and John returned to the Lansing area where Marg worked as administrator and owner of the family business, Brennan Construction, until she retired in 1994.

Marg was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing and was a founding member and board president for Thornton Manor. In her free time, Marg could be found golfing, playing cards, traveling the world, and enjoying time and laughter with her family members.

Surviving Marg are her children: Susan Rothman in Duluth, MN, Kevin (Donna) Hogan of Lansing, Mary Kate Hogan of Lansing and Patrick (Robin) Hogan of La Crosse, WI; eight grandchildren: Russell Rothman, Douglas Rothman, Sean Hogan, Kate (Blake) Feuerhelm, Dillon Hogan, Shannon Hogan, Connor Hogan and Nell Hogan; one great-granddaughter, Adalyn Feuerhelm; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Marg in death was her husband of 54 years, John Hogan, October 10, 2009; her parents, Eugene and Dorothy Brennan; and her brother, Daniel Brennan.

Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Lansing assisted the family with arrangements.
