Kee baseball team suffers lone loss during six-game week of competition in rematch of top-10 Class 1A squads from State Tournament quarterfinals

The Kee baseball team played another busy slate of six games during the holiday-shortened past week, putting five of those six games in the win column to currently hold a 13-2 season record that includes an undefeated mark in seven Upper Iowa Conference (UIC) games. Three of those UIC wins led off this week, including a home doubleheader sweep of 15-0 and 17-2 in four innings each over Postville Tuesday, May 31 and an 11-1 home win over North Fayette Valley in six innings Thursday, June 2. The Hawks then traveled to Eddyville-Blakesburg for a weekend trio of games, falling to fellow Class 1A top-10 rated New London by a 10-0 result in six innings Friday, June 3 before sweeping two games in tournament play Saturday, June 4, 8-5 over the host school and 13-2 in five innings over Pekin.

The Hawks were next scheduled to host Clayton Ridge for a varsity doubleheader Monday, June 6 and play Nashua-Plainfield at Upper Iowa University in Fayette Tuesday, June 7 before playing at South Winneshiek Thursday, June 9, returning to Upper Iowa Friday, June 10 to play Don Bosco and then playing in the St. Ansgar Tournament Saturday, June 11. Kee’s boys will host Janesville Monday, June 13 and play at Turkey Valley Tuesday, June 14 before hosting MFL/MarMac Thursday, June 16 and then playing in the Hillcrest Academy Tournament at Kalona Saturday, June 18.
