The Kee softball team got its past week off to a winning start, but had that momentum wane as the week wore on and the competition level increased, ultimately resulting in two wins in six games. The Lady Hawks first swept a doubleheader at MFL/MarMac Monday, June 13, 12-0 in five innings and 8-3, before falling at home, 8-3, to Decorah Thursday, June 16 in a game rescheduled from a Wednesday, June 15 rain-out. The Kee girls then played three games in the two-day West Delaware Tournament this past weekend, falling to Class 5A sixth-rated Linn-Mar, 12-0 in four innings, in its lone Friday, June 17 competition before falling in two games played Saturday, June 18, including a 9-1 loss to Dyersville Beckman followed by a 10-9 loss to Edgewood-Colesburg to finish in 12th place in the 15-team event.

Now holding an 8-12 overall season record that includes a mark of 6-2 in Upper Iowa Conference play, the Lady Hawks were next scheduled to play a varsity doubleheader at Postville Monday, June 20, do likewise at Central Elkader Wednesday, June 22 and play in the Don Bosco Tournament Friday and Saturday, June 24-25.
