The Veterans Memorial Hospital Medical Clinic in Postville opened Tuesday, July 5, at 124 West Green Street in the same location of the former Postville Medical Clinic in downtown Postville. The clinic will follow a consistent schedule Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The clinic will remain open over the lunch hour, then close from 1-2 p.m. each afternoon.

The Postville Clinic has one full-time provider, Michelle Crary, Nurse Practitioner, and Dr. Thomas McMullan, who will continue to see patients in the clinic on a part-time basis.

Michelle Crary, Nurse Practitioner, is working four days a week in the clinic. She has over 10 years of nursing experience at both Gundersen Health and Mayo Clinic in La Crosse, WI as well as Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah. She has been seeing patients at the Veterans Memorial Hospital Medical Clinic in Waukon for the last two months.

“I am glad to be working closer to home and with an organization that focuses on enhancing the lives of their patients,” states Michelle.  “I wanted to become a nurse practitioner as I wanted to be able to make more of a difference in my patients’ lives. I am very excited to have the opportunity to be doing just that in my own county and close to home.”

Dr. Thomas McMullan also continues to see patients at the Postville Clinic two days per week and will continue to follow his patients to Veterans Memorial Hospital whenever a hospital admission, a surgery or another hospital service may be needed.

“I continue to have a medical presence in Postville and will be working in Waukon as well,” states Dr. McMullan. “The hospital has expanded the hours and services offered to the Postville Community with the addition of Michelle as a full-time provider.”

Medical Assistant, Casey Fisk, remains at the Postville Clinic and will be a familiar face to all returning patients. Teresa Berg, is a new face joining this health care team as a full-time receptionist, greeting patients, scheduling appointments and helping with medical and insurance billings.

Future plans for expansion of the Postville Clinic include a nurse Midwife as well as a Behavioral Health Specialist. For questions about the new Veterans Memorial Hospital Medical Clinic in Postville or to make an appointment, call 563-864-7221.
