Letter to the Editor: Not going to take this anymore

To the Editor:

I have reached the point where, quoting Peter Finch in the 1976 movie “Network”, “I am madder than hell and am not going to take this anymore”.

So what am I upset about?  Let me count the ways.

We have a president who has created the worst inflation in 40 years and who wants to blame Putin, Big Oil companies, gas station owners and everyone but himself. The same president openly criticizes the Supreme Court for the recent decision on Roe v. Wade, totally misrepresenting what the decision actually means.

The Justice Department refuses to protect the Supreme Court justices, as required by law. Those justices are being threatened daily by mobs who have no regard for the life of a human fetus, yet will not impose capital punishment on someone who kills a dozen people. What has happened to the rule of law?

With gasoline prices at an all-time high, the same president is sending our national petroleum reserves to China, plans to go to Saudi Arabia to beg them to pump more oil and is attempting to buy more oil from Venezuela, which produces the dirtiest oil in the world. His administration has taken us from complete energy independence to begging help from countries who do not like us. Why are we begging for oil from other countries when we have the largest reserves in the world right here?

Our economy could boom again if we went back to the policies of the previous administration. What sense does it make to try to destroy our own fossil fuel sector and go begging for it elsewhere?

According to recent statistics, 86 percent of the energy in the world comes from fossil fuel. Why is the administration trying to push us into the “Green New Deal” when there is no infrastructure to handle what is being promoted?

Social media outlets such as Twitter and Facebook have kicked off subscribers such as President Trump and anyone who expresses a conservative opinion, yet they allow the Iranian ayatollahs to speak freely on that platform.

Main stream media continues to mislead the country about what is really happening because of current administration policies.  What ever happened to honest journalism?

The southern border situation is creating national security issues beyond belief.  We have at least two million illegal immigrants in the past 19 months coming from at least 150 different countries. Over a hundred thousand Americans are dying every year due to the fentanyl coming in through that border. That drug was produced in Communist China and India.

Our president and vice president refuse to visit the border or make any changes. The Mexican cartels are getting rich on the illegal trafficking and even the Mexican government is now supporting Beto O’Rourke for governor of Texas.  Wonder why that is?

And why is no one enraged over the death of 50-plus illegals in the back of a truck? Had that happened during the Trump administration there would have been impeachment proceedings drawn up in 30 seconds.

These illegals get benefits that even our veterans cannot get. How has that happened? We have over 11 million jobs unfilled, yet people get unemployment benefits without having to apply for one of those jobs.

Our standing on the International stage is at the lowest level in my lifetime. I have friends overseas who ask me what  is happening here.

It is time to put an end to this and we can do this by uniting to bring sanity back to our government, making this “One Nation Under God” again and preserving the Constitution. November cannot come fast enough.
