Kee cross country teams to compete in Class 1A State Qualifying Meet this Thursday near Cascade

The Kee girls and boys cross country teams will compete in their Class 1A State Qualifying Meet this Thursday, October 20 hosted by Cascade High School at Fillmore Fairways Golf Course located at 21655 US Hwy. 151, about fi ve miles east of Cascade. The meet begins at 4 p.m. and holds the opportunity to earn qualifi cation for the Class 1A State Meet. The event will feature both Class 1A boys and girls fields from 18 schools in their respective races.

The top two teams in the final team scoring of their respective races and top 10 individuals to cross the finish line will earn advancement to the Class 1A State Cross Country Meet to be held Friday, October 28 at Fort Dodge. Competing with the Hawks will be teams from Alburnett, Calamus-Wheatland, Cascade (ranked 15th among Class 1A girls teams and ninth among Class 1A boys teams), Central Elkader, Clayton Ridge (ranked 10th among Class 1A boys), Easton Valley, Edgewood-Colesburg, Maquoketa Valley (ranked 17th among Class 1A boys), Bellevue Marquette, MFL/Mar-Mac, Midland, North Cedar, Postville, Prince of Peace, South Winneshiek (ranked third among Class 1A girls), Springville (boys only) and Turkey Valley.
