Allamakee County Community Foundation mini-grants now available to help assist with funding of local project needs

Letters of interest are now being accepted for the Allamakee County Community Foundation’s emerging needs grant program. “Mini-grants” will support programs that help improve local quality of life and the well-being of county residents outside of the Foundation’s regular grant cycle.

Emerging Needs Mini Grants are available in June, August and October. Grants up to $500 are available for organizations with a 501(c)3 designation, along with schools and municipalities. As part of the Foundation’s broad efforts to partner with local organizations to address pressing needs and help residents thrive, grants are awarded in the areas of health and human services; education; neighborhoods and community development; environment; children, youth and families; and arts and culture (including historic preservation). Organizations should visit dbqfoundation.org/accf for more information.

Applicants should submit a letter of interest to Foundation Coordinator Betty Steege at steebo@acegroup.cc by June 30 with the subject line “ACCF Mini Grants,” followed by organization name. Those interested in applying should call Betty Steege at 563-586-2046 prior to sending a letter of interest to share their email address and ensure their message is received.

The Community Foundation receives funds from the Iowa County Endowment Fund Program. The Foundation grants out 75% of these funds and invests the remaining 25% in a permanent endowment that generates interest to be distributed in future years.

The Allamakee County Community Foundation offers many opportunities to improve quality of life by addressing an array of local issues. To learn more about how to establish a fund or make a gift that impacts the local community, contact Foundation Coordinator Betty Steege at 563-586-2046.

The Allamakee County Community Foundation was formed in 2005 as an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque. The founding members of the organization had a vision to ensure that the local communities’ charitable programs were supported - now, and in the future. The Foundation works with many individuals, families, business and organizations to establish endowment funds that will provide grant awards for years to come.
