Auxiliary of VMH to hold Garage Sale June 6-7

The members of the Auxiliary of Veterans Memorial Hospital (VMH) will be holding their second annual garage sale at Freedom Bank in Waukon in conjunction with the Waukon City-Wide Garage Sales. The Auxiliary garage sale will be open Thursday, June 6, from 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. and again Friday, June 7, from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.

The Auxiliary of Veterans Memorial Hospital is devoted to providing the hospital and its patients and visitors with many services. The Auxiliary also holds annual fundraisers such as the Women’s Health Day Luncheon the last Tuesday of September, the Pillow-Perk in mid-October, the Gift Case at the hospital and its annual membership drive each July.

All the money the Auxiliary receives goes back to the hospital for equipment which has included  an OB birthing bed, an ER cart, an EKG machine, a mammography viewbox, the Maternity Services Birthing Tub, flat screen TVs for patient rooms, a fetal heart monitor and infant warmer, blanket warmers, outpatient treatment room renovations, carbon monoxide testing machines, patient weigh beds, infant hearing screening machine, and the Auxiliary has also helped fund the new 3D digital mammography machine and surgery sterilizer. This year the funds will be used to purchase an additional NuStep machine for the Rehabilitation Department at Veterans Memorial Hospital.

This is the Auxiliary’s second annual garage sale, which was coordinated as a new fundraiser in order to replace the Masquerade sales which are no longer being held. This Auxiliary garage sale will feature clean, usable household items in good working condition. No clothing will be offered.
