The Postville Lions Club consists of 14 members who participate in various local events to raise funds to improve the community. The group recently made a generous donation to the Veterans Memorial Hospital Diabetes Education Program.

“Diabetes is one of the causes we support along with vision, pediatric cancers, world hunger, and the environment,” states Postville Lions Club President Art Heitland.

Angie Mettille, CDCES, BSN, RN is the program coordinator of Veterans Memorial Hospital Diabetes Education. She explains, “Our goal is to provide quality education to those in our community living with diabetes. By ensuring we have a variety of educational materials available to meet the needs of everyone living with any type of diabetes, regardless of language and literacy levels, we can better meet this goal. Donations such as these make a difference in our ability to reach everyone who desires to learn about their diagnosis and self-management skills to improve their health and quality of life. We want to thank the Postville Lions Club for investing in and caring for our community.”
