Dan and Jane Sivesind and Chuck and Lois Votsmier, all of Waukon, are happy to announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their children, Leeta Sivesind and Scott Votsmier. The wedding will take place at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon June 11, 2016.

The bride-elect is a 2010 graduate of Waukon High School and a 2014 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa. She is currently working towards a PharmD. degree at the University of Iowa and is also employed by Hartig Drug in Iowa City as a Pharmacy Intern. The groom-elect is a 2005 graduate of Waukon High School and a 2007 graduate of Kirkwood Community College. He currently works for Voss Distributing in North Liberty as a route salesman for RedBull.

Jack and Denise Hager of Waukon are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary May 30. Jack Hager and Denise White were united in marriage May 30, 1966 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Ames. In honor of the occasion, their children and families will be hosting a dinner party for them in June.

They are parents of four children, Mike (Trisha) Hager of Prairie du Chien, WI, Jon (Selena) Hager of Lorsdale, MN, and Drew (Sarah) Hager and Christy (Tom) O’Neill of Waukon. Thirteen grandchildren have blessed their lives: Ella and Ava Hager, Marissa, Mariah, MaKaylie, Macey and Mariana Hager, Kylee, Jaden and Noah Hager, and Hunter, Jack and Emma O’Neill. Gary and Karen Soper of Harpers Ferry will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary June 11.  Gary Soper and Karen Anderson were married June 11, 1966 at West Paint Creek Synod Church, rural Waukon.

In honor of their anniversary, their children and families will be hosting an open house Saturday, June 11 from 2-5 p.m. at the Harpers Ferry Community Center.  They are the parents of Jared (Jill) Soper and Kari (Paul) Rea.  They have three grandsons, Brent, Ethan and Oliver.  They request no gifts, however cards may be sent to 322 N. 1st St., Harpers Ferry, IA. 52146.

Andy and Leah Hennessy of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Elizabeth (Ellie) Catherine Hennessy, born May 18, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 7 lbs. 8 ozs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins siblings Joe (13), Sarah (11), Matt (8) and Anna (6).

Grandparents are Jim and Peggy Hennessy of Waukon and Terry and Robin Meyer of Postville.

Craig and Kayla Meirick of Cresco announce the birth of their daughter, Amelia Joan Meirick, born May 17, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 6 lbs. 15 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins siblings Sophia (6), Evelyn (5) and Grace (3).

Grandparents are Chuck and Kathy Malek of Cresco and Dennis and Joan Meirick of Elma.

Jonathan and Martha Yoder of Waukon announce the birth of their son, David Allan Yoder, born May 12, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 9 lbs. 10 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins siblings Lorene Kay (4) and Wanita Rose (2).

Grandparents are Lydia C. Yoder of New Auburn and Darryl and Susan Yoder of Waukon. Great-grandparents are Martha Borntreger of Augusta and Clara Yoder of Waukon.

Ruth Anne Schulte will be celebrating her 75th birthday with a party and open house Saturday, May 28 from 7:30-11 p.m. at the Allamakee County Fairgrounds Pavilion in Waukon. Ruth and her family ask that you join them in celebrating her birthday. There will be dancing and fun. No gifts are requested.
 

Janice Winter of Waukon will be celebrating her 80th birthday June 8. She was born June 8, 1936.

Nathan and Morgan Kliebenstein of Darlington, WI announce the birth of their daughter, Edith Caroline Kliebenstein, born January 15, 2016 at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville, WI. She weighed 8 lbs. 2 ozs. and measured 19-1/4 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins a big sister, Evelyn Kay (2-1/2).

Grandparents are Rick and Carol Welper of Lansing and Ron and Jan Kliebenstein of Darlington, WI.

Blaize Cota and Trina Bloxham of Dorchester announce the birth of their son, Lukas Richard Cota, born May 5, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs. 5 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins siblings Jaxon (4), Braxton (3) and Tila (3).

Grandparents are Brad and Vicki Bloxham and Brian and Karen Cota. Great-grandparents are Rich and June Cota, Mary Johnson, and Richard and Edith Johnson.
