Brandon and Michelle Dietrich of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Treven Todd Dietrich, born May 6, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 9 lbs. 1 oz. and measured 22 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins siblings Preston (9), Natalie (5) and Emrie (2).

Grandparents are Todd and Joan Dietrich of Waukon and Gerald and Laurie Brink of Waukon and the late Curt Mathis. Great-grandparents are Carma Harris of Waukon, Sharon Brown of Waukon, Aldean Dietrich of Frankville and Jean Barker of Waukon.

Arlene Yearous will be celebrating her 80th birthday with an open house Saturday, May 28 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, located at 614 Rossville Road in Waukon.

The open house will be hosted by her family. She requests no gifts, but cards may be given at the open house or sent to her home address at 24 Second Avenue NW, Waukon, IA 52172.
 

Nicholas Howe of Waukon and Whitney Thompson of Plainfield wish to announce their upcoming wedding ceremony to be held May 21, 2016 in Dallas Center at Candle Lit Way Wedding Chapel. The ceremony will take place at 12 p.m. with the reception and dance to follow at the Vets Club in Waukon at 6 p.m.

The bride-to-be graduated from Waverly-Shell Rock in 2013 and the Carlson College of Massage Therapy in 2015. She is employed at RR Donnelly in Osage. Her parents are Roger Jr. and Jennifer Thompson of Plainfield. Grandparents are Richard and Connie Walthe of Marion and Evelyn Thompson of Nashua and Roger Thompson, Sr. of Plainfield.

The groom-to-be is a 2008 graduate of Waukon High School. He joined the National Guard in 2009 and is employed at RR Donnelly in Osage. His parents are Donald and Barbara Howe of Waukon. Grandparents are Merle and Ethel Krueger of Greene and the late Kenneth and Margie Howe.

The couple plans to live in Osage after the wedding.

Michael Ryan Whalen and Emily Margaret Bohr wish to announce their upcoming wedding ceremony to be held June 4, 2016 at St. Francis De Sales in Ossian.
The bride-to-be is from Ossian and is a graduate of South Winneshiek High School. She earned an Office Technology with Medical Emphasis Diploma from NICC and is employed as an optician with Shopko Optical in Mason City.

The groom-to-be is from Dawsonville, GA and is a graduate of Dawson County High School in Dawsonville. He earned  a Business Specialist AAS and Business Administration AS Degree from NICC.

The bride will be given away by her father, Darryl Bohr. Erica Bohr will be the Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids will include the bride’s sisters, Elizabeth Elsbernd and Evelyn Bohr, and her cousin, Cassie Michel. The flower girl will be Jolee Brummond.

Ryan and Teri Ann Marting of Elkader announce the birth of their daughter, Azalea Rose Marting, born April 27, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 6 lbs. 6 ozs. and measured 19-1/4 inches in length at the time of her birth.

Grandparents are Mike and Joyce Marting of St. Olaf and Lyle and Pat Gregerson of Elkader.

Edwin and Karen Frick of Waterville announce the birth of their son, Carver Bradley Frick, born April 25, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 8 lbs. 11 ozs. and measured 20-1/4 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins siblings, Dalton (9), Devin (7) and Caitlin (3).

Grandparents are John and Deb Egan of rural Waukon and Roger and Sue Frick of Waukon. Great-grandparents are Barb Magner of Cedar Rapids and Myrtle Egan of rural Waukon.
 

Todd and Brianne Leikvold of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Kellen Charles Leikvold, born April 27, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs. 2 ozs. and measured 20-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a sibling, Gannon (17 months).

Grandparents are Brian and Karen Burke of Dorchester and Lyle and Cindy Leikvold of Waukon. Great-grandparents are Keith and Fran Fahey of Waukon and LeOtia Flage of Waukon.

Matt and Katie Mahoney of Mendota Heights, MN announce the birth of their daughter, Libby Louise Mahoney, born March 7, 2016. She weighed 8 lbs. 1 oz. and measured 20-1/2 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins a big sister, Molly.

Grandparents are Jim and Lynn Hermes of Vadnais Heights, MN and Lyle and Marilyn Mahoney of Waukon.

Gary and Carol Bahr of Waukon will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary May 14. Gary Bahr and Carol Moen were married May 14, 1966 at Glenwood Lutheran Church, rural Decorah. In honor of the occasion, their children and families will be hosting an open house Sunday, May 22 from 12-4 p.m. at Zion United Church of Christ, located at 113 First Street NE in Waukon.

They are the parents of three children, Jennifer Kugel and Jason Bahr of Waukon, and Jeffrey Bahr of Onalaska, WI. They have three granddaughters, Hope, Alexis and Alivia, all of Waukon. They request no gifts, but cards may be sent to them at 2246 Bluebird Road, Waukon, IA 52172.
 

Zach and Melissa Clarke of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Irene Ethel Clarke, born April 27, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 6 lbs. 13 ozs. and measured 20-3/4 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins siblings Adelle (6), Elsie (4) and Henry (2).

Grandparents are Jim and Patty Clarke of Waukon and Dave and Terri Kleinow of Harpers Ferry. Great-grandparents are Henry and Betty Kleinow of Prairie du Chien, WI and Olga Balk of Prairie du Chien, WI.
