Edwin and Clara Miller of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Matthew Paul Miller, born April 13, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 9 lbs. 0 ozs. and measured 22 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins siblings Marlin (9), Merle (6), Melvin (5) and Marcus (3).

Grandparents are Darryl and Susan Yoder of Waukon, and Ivan and Wilma Miller of Medford, WI. Great-grandmother is Clara Yoder of Waukon.
 

Austin and Keisha Coon of Monona announce the birth of their son, Shea Larry Coon, born April 5, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 6 lbs. 12 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of his birth.
Grandparents are Luther and Cindy Schutte of Luana, and Larry and Susan Coon of Oxford Junction. Great-grandparents are Dwayne and Inez Moon of Luana and Kathryn Hickey of Oxford Junction.
 

The Waukon High School Class of 1971 has set its 45-year class reunion date for August 13 of this year at the Old Rossville Store in Rossville. The reunion committee is in the process of updating the class records so more detailed information can be sent out to all class members.

Marlys Tweten Schulte will celebrate her 90th birthday with an Open House hosted by her family Sunday, May 1 from 2-4 p.m. at Wellington Place in Decorah. Music will be provided by The Country Cousins.

Taylor Meana and Jesus Cepeda, Jr. of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Leah Marie Cepeda, born April 5, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 8 lbs. 0 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of her birth.

Grandparents are Jesus Cepeda, Sr. of Branson, MO and Lourdes Simental of Cedar Falls. Great-grandparents are Vicente and Rafeala Zepeda, and John and June Meana.

Gordon and Shirley Steffenson of Waukon will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary April 16. Gordon Steffenson and Shirley Brandsmeier were married April 16, 1966 at Zion United Church of Christ in Waukon.

The Steffensons have one daughter, Gale Tigges of Sunbury, OH, and one son, Tom Steffenson of Lisbon. They also have four grandchildren, Tate and Trey Steffenson, and Bailey and Morgan Tigges, and one great-grandchild, Charlie Bloom.

Russell and Sharen Roth of Waukon are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Russell Roth and Sharen Gruis were married April 9, 1966 at First Baptist Church in Buffalo Center.

In honor of the milestone, their children and their families will be hosting an Open House celebration planned for Saturday, April 23 from 1-3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Waukon. They request no gifts.

The Roths have four children: Peggy (William) Harnack of Pardeeville, WI, Jill (Scott) Manning of Waukon, Michael (Diane) Roth of Waukon and Dawn (Chris) Barr of Palo.

Jade Smith and George Fruth of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Aurora Jane Fruth, born March 27, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 5 lbs. 12 ozs. and measured 18-1/2 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins siblings Kaylynne (6) and Leela (1).

Brian and Suzette Mahoney of Waukon and Cullen  and Denise Becker of Lansing announce the engagement and upcoming wedding  of their children, Morgan Mahoney of Waukon and Justin Smerud of Lansing. The wedding is planned for June 11 of this year in Prairie du Chien, WI. The couple will be honeymooning in Ireland.
The bride-elect is a student at the UIW Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, TX. The groom-elect is a biologist for the USGS in La Crosse, WI.
