Waukon boys track team finishes fifth at New Hampton Invitational, sixth at NEIC Meet

The Waukon boys track team got a large dose of Northeast Iowa Conference (NEIC) competition this past week in its two scheduled meets. The Indians were one of five NEIC teams that competed at the New Hampton Invitational Monday, May 4, finishing fifth in that seven-team overall field. The track Tribe then finished sixth in competing against all of its NEIC colleagues at the annual Northeast Iowa Conference Meet hosted this year by Oelwein Thursday, May 7, falling just shy of winning any NEIC event crowns this season.
The Indians were scheduled to host their own Indian Relays Monday, May 11, but had that meet canceled due to injury concerns with competing in cooler weather this close to the Class 3A State Qualifying Meet looming on the schedule at Decorah this Thursday, May 14.
