Waukon boys cross country team finishes second at home invitational


Waukon boys cross country senior Brock Berns was one of seven Indian upperclassmen who competed for the final time on their home course at the Waukon Invitational Tuesday, September 22. Berns finished 29th overall in a time of 19:46 and joined fellow seniors Isaac Fink, T.J. Treptau, Tanner Manning, Carter Fuhrman, Noah Liddiard and Will Keenan in competing one final time in front of their hometown fans. Standard photo by Bob Beach. The Waukon boys cross country team ran to a second-place team finish at its own home invitational Tuesday, September 22. Led by a pair of top-10 individual finishes, the Indians tallied 82 team points to finish behind Decorah, who placed four runners within the meet’s overall top 10. The Indians will next compete this Saturday, October 3 at the Crestwood Invitational in Cresco before wrapping up their regular season schedule at the South Winneshiek Invitational Tuesday, October 6. Waukon will then prepare for the Northeast Iowa Conference Meet October 13.
