Ronald Feuerhelm

Ronald Gene “Gramps” Feuerhelm, age 88, of Hager City, WI went to be with his Heavenly Father Friday, November 20, 2015. Funeral service was held Monday, November 23 at Cornerstone Community Church in Red Wing, MN with Reverend Mark Kalb officiating. Burial followed at St. Paul’s UCC Cemetery in Ellsworth, WI.
Ron was born June 11, 1927 in Mays Prairie to Benjamin and Amanda (Rieser) Feuerhelm and lived on his parents’ farm. Ron enlisted in the Army September 6, 1945 and was discharged in February 1948. He married his bride of 67 years, Bernadine Clancy, September 24, 1948. They bought their 80-acre farm in Hager City, WI in 1951 and farmed there until 1965. He also worked as a Culligan delivery man in Red Wing, MN, at P.V. Flour Mill in Hastings, WI and was a salesman for Moorman’s Feed Company until retiring in 1986.
Ron became a born-again Christian at the age of 66 and a member of Cornerstone Community Church in Red Wing, MN. He enjoyed having Bible studies with his family and friends. In addition, he enjoyed going to nursing homes and talking with the residents about his love for Jesus. Ron also enjoyed bear and coon hunting for 51 years and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Bernadine, of Hager City, WI; five daughters and five sons: Kathi (Bruce) Jensen of Ellsworth, WI, Lonnie (Peggy) Feuerhelm of Ellsworth, WI, Dannie (Janet) Feuerhelm of Ellsworth, WI, Ricki (Cherri) Feuerhelm of Lake City, MN, Nanette (Tom) Fox of Ellsworth, WI, Tambi Bauer of Hager City, WI, Kim Frandrup of Hager City, WI, Beth (Richard) Ruble of Webster, WI, Jamie Feuerhelm of River Falls, WI and Scott (Debbie) Feuerhelm of Ellsworth, WI; 23 grandsons; 13 granddaughters; 62 great-grandchildren and three more on the way;  one great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Angela Feuerhelm and Nissi Young; two sons-in-law, Kenneth Young and Kenneth Bauer; his parents, Benjamin and Amanda Feuerhelm; four brothers, Everett, Walter, Robert and Vernon Feuerhelm; and a sister, Gertrude Crowley.
Pallbearers were Lonnie, Dannie, Ricki, Jamie and Scott Feuerhelm and Tad Eggenberger. Arrangements were handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing, MN. Online condolences may be shared at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
