Gundersen Lansing Clinic celebrating 20 years in the community with open house

Gundersen Lansing Clinic celebrating 20 years ...
The Gundersen Lansing Clinic is observing 20 years of service to the Lansing community this year. An open house in honor of that milestone has been scheduled for April 21 at the clinic location of 50 North Fourth Street, Lansing. Submitted photo.

Patients hear her friendly voice every time they call to make an appointment and see her friendly smile every time they enter the Gundersen Lansing Clinic. Faye Halverson has been there since day one - April 1, 1996 - in her role as office manager. This month, Halverson and the rest of the staff at the Lansing Clinic are celebrating 20 years of caring for the Lansing community.

“Having this clinic in Lansing is important for the community’s growth and for providing primary care services in close proximity to La Crosse and the surrounding tri-state area,” comments Halverson.

When the Lansing Clinic opened in 1996, it was a big deal to the community. Lansing had been without a medical clinic since 1991 when Dale Wicklund, MD closed his private practice when he was called to active duty.

Halverson says some of the biggest changes she has seen over the years include the conversion from paper medical records to electronic records and that the radiology images are now digital too.

Today the clinic provides a wide variety of medical services for people of all ages under the medical care of nurse practitioner Erica Krause-Wagner, APNP, including:

• Annual exams/adult physicals
• Mobile mammography
• Bone density testing
• Well-child exams
• Sports physicals
• Lab
• Treatment of chronic conditions, including diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol
• X-ray
• And much more.

“We take great pride in developing personal and caring relationships with all our patients and families,” says Halverson. “We have an awesome team here that is dedicated to our patients and community. Our success comes from our staff and support from the community.”

To celebrate its 20 years of serving the community, the Lansing Clinic is hosting an open house Thursday, April 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Clinic (see event advertisement also printed in this week’s issue of The Standard). Area residents are invited to stop by the celebration and enjoy refreshments, along with a tour of the clinic, and visit with clinic staff and former clinic physician James Wilde, MD.
