Bluff Country ATV/UTV Ride is this Saturday ...

Motorists in the Allamakee County area need to be advised that the second annual Bluff Country ATV/UTV Ride is scheduled for this Saturday, October 1, beginning at 9 a.m. and traversing the Allamakee County roadways highlighted in red in the above map. A vast majority of those roadways are County gravel roads, but the ATV/UTV units will occasionally be using the shoulder areas of paved County roads per the ride's special permit authorizing such use. The route begins and ends in Harpers Ferry and briefly uses both X52/Great River Road and X42/Lansing Harpers Road to get to County gravels on its way to Waterville. After another brief paved route on Waterville Road upon its departure from Waterville, the route will then head north and cross A52/Elon Drive at its intersection with Ness Ridge Road and Drake Road in the Elon community. Traveling through the Village Creek area, the route will then make its way into Lansing, traversing City streets and crossing State Highway 9/Main Street in Lansing on its way up to Mt. Hosmer. After a loop on County gravels northwest of Lansing, the route returns to the Lansing community, again crossing Highway 9/Main Street and heading south out of town utilizing a portion of X52/Great River Road just south of Lansing and also a portion of the Lafayette Ridge Drive pavement before crossing X52/Great River Road one time in the Wexford area and then briefly traversing that pavement another two times as the route nears its Harpers Ferry ending. The Allamakee County Sheriff's Office advises motorists to simply be aware of the ATV/UTV groups along the routes indicated in red above throughout the day this Saturday. Submitted image.
