Waukon boys cross country team ends season with second straight 12th-place finish in third consecutive trip to Class 2A State Meet


Waukon boys cross country senior Tyler O’Neill (pictured above) joined fellow seniors Hunter Jensen, Austin Day and Adam Gruman in wrapping up their high school cross country careers by helping the Indians to a 12th-place team finish at the Class 2A State Meet at Fort Dodge Saturday, October 29. In their third trip to the season grand finale, O’Neill placed 72nd overall, 46th for team scoring, in a time of 18:02.6, with Jensen placing 90th overall, 57th for team scoring, with a clocking of 18:18.7. The 2016 season came to a close for the Waukon boys cross country team where more than 50 other Class 2A teams would love to have been. For the third consecutive season the Indian distance delegation competed among the Class 2A elite, finishing in the same 12th-place spot they did last season in the final team standings.
