Walter “Chip” Clancy, Jr.

Walter L. Clancy, Jr., 84, of Chicago, IL passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 after a long bout with lung cancer. He requested no funeral, but a Celebration of Life is being planned for later this summer in Lansing.

Walter “Chip” Clancy, Jr. was born February 8, 1935 to Walter and Verona (Pottratz) Clancy. He is survived by his loving wife, Maureen; their adopted daughter, Kim, and her children; five sisters: Bernadine Feuerhelm of Hager City, WI, Belva Gramlich of Monona, Barbara Leppert of Lansing, Bebe Truelsen of La Crescent, MN and Deanna Clancy of Kenosha, WI; and one brother, Carl Clancy of Lansing. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters: Betty Munchoff, Beverly Boies and Bonita McKee.

Chip worked in construction and was a welder for many years in the Chicago area. He and his wife worked at Clancy’s Supper Club in Lansing for two years. He was a Mason and belonged to Wichita Lodge #99 in Wichita, KS.
