Waukon bowling teams fall at home to Waverly-Shell Rock in season opener


Tops for the Tribe ... The Waukon girls bowling pair of senior Megan O’Neill (photo above) and sophomore Madi Palmer (photo below) each take a turn in the Indians’ 1844-2126 home loss to Waverly-Shell Rock to open their season Tuesday, November 20. O’Neill led all bowlers with a score of 357 consisting of games of 212 and 145, with Palmer rolling game totals of 93 and 153 for a score of 246 that ranked second for the Tribe. Junior jumpstarts ... Waukon boys bowling juniors Matt Rozzell (above photo) and Nathan Liddiard (below photo) each send a roll down the alley in the Indians’ 2482-2623 home loss to Waverly-Shell Rock to open their season Tuesday, November 20. The Waukon bowling teams got their 2018-2019 seasons underway hosting Waverly-Shell Rock Tuesday, November 20. Despite each of them fielding the top individual scorers in the competition, both the girls team and the boys team lost to the Go-Hawks, the Lady Indians falling by a final result of 1844-2126 and the Waukon boys surrendering a margin of 2482-2623.

The Indians were next scheduled to host Tripoli Friday, November 30. The bowling Tribe will then hit the road for the first time this season, traveling to North Iowa Friday, December 7.
