August 25, 1946, she married Charles Edgar Hille Langland at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove. Lois was a great seamstress, designing many wedding dresses at Fabric Chalet, and one of the best lefse bakers in the area as her lefse hardly ever had any big brown spots.

Lois was also active in Civic Club and the Veterans Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, a volunteer at Makee Manor, and served as treasurer for the Iowa River Cemetery for 30 years. She enjoyed needlework and quilting, playing the organ, reading, and her 5 o’clock wine. She collected over 400 turtles, earning the nickname “Grandma Turtle” from her grandchildren. Lois also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children: David (Beverly Harrelson) Langland of Las Cruces, NM, Constance (Joseph) Witkowski of LaGrange Park, IL, Linda Langland and Chuck Langland, both of Decorah, Bruce Langland of Prairie du Chien, WI and Joan (Sam) Howard of Knoxville, TN; three grandchildren, Charles and Edward Witkowski and Laura Howard; one great-grandchild, Torri Langland; one brother, Gordon Roland Nesheim; and her brothers- and sisters-in-law: Gordon (Kathy) Nesheim, Walter (Adeline) Langland, Ione Nesheim and Evelyn Langland.
