Patricia Wild

Patricia “Patti” Wild, 75, of Lansing died Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, December 6 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing. Inurnment was at Gethsemane Cemetery.

Patricia Lou, the daughter of Milton George and Genevieve (Guider) Wild, was born September 11, 1944 in Waukon. She graduated from St. George High School in Lansing and earned her dietary certification later in life.

Patti owned and operated the Riv Aire in Lansing for many years, she worked for Meals on Wheels in Lansing, and was the Dietary Manager at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon for 16 years.

Patti enjoyed spending time on the Mississippi River and soaking up the warm days of summer. It was common to see her driving her jet ski or her new boat, the “Patti Lou,” down the river and enjoying the Mississippi. She also enjoyed traveling to tropical places every winter with Joe, Elissa and Justin. Patti had a passion for walking three miles every day and her workout classes with her closest girlfriends.

Patti is survived by her longtime companion, Joseph Strobel of Lansing; her daughter, Elissa Strobel (Justin Shepard) of Lansing; her granddaughter, Melissa Rugolo (Alex Dorff) of Pewaukee, WI; three great-grandchildren, Kaden and Kinsley Dorff and Chloe Shepard; a step-daughter, Eve (Dennis) Stevens of Staten Island, NY; her sister, Connie Gallagher of Waukon; her nephews, Shawn (Tina) Gallagher and Craig (Annette) Gallagher; and a niece, Michelle Gallagher Bakke.

Patti was preceded in death by her parents, Mit and Genevieve Wild; her brother-in-law, Bob Gallagher; and her best friend, Sheila Powers.
