“Baby It’s Cold Outside” Christmas Fantasy scheduled for November 18-22; Make your reservations for drive-through meals at least five days in advance

Reservations are being taken now for the drive-through meals served at Veterans Memorial Health Care Foundation’s  30th Annual Christmas Fantasy. The event this year will be held Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, November 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22, at the Allamakee County Fairgrounds Pavilion in Waukon. The theme is “Baby It’s Cold Outside,” which is fitting for an outdoor Fantasy.

A drive-through of lighted displays will be out in front of the Allamakee County Fairgrounds Pavilion for anyone wanting to drive-through or walk-through evenings during the event. The grounds will be open from 5-9 p.m. Thursday through Sunday nights and from 4-7 p.m. Monday night. The format of the event was changed again this year to keep the event COVID-safe.

Drive-through meals will be served throughout the event and can be made by reservation only. Reservations are now being taken for drive-through meals which will be offered Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. All meals must be reserved with a reservation five days prior. Reservations can be made by calling 563-568-6262.

Friday, November 19, BE Catered will be offering a meal of chicken alfredo, breadstick, garden salad and cookie for $12 a meal.  There is also a kid’s meal option of mac and cheese, breadstick and cookie for $6 a meal.  Serving will be held from 5-7 p.m.
Saturday, November 20, from 5-7 p.m., Rich Schulte Catering will be serving turkey, cheesy potatoes, green beans, cookie or bar and a dinner roll also for $12 a meal. Sunday evening, from 5-7, the Allamakee County Pork Producers will be serving pulled pork sandwiches with BBQ sauce, chips and cookie for $7 a meal.

And Monday, November 22, a Christmas Fantasy lunch will be served also as a drive-through meal from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Milty’s Restaurant and Catering of Lansing is preparing and serving that meal consisting of chicken salad on cranberry wild rice bread, homemade chicken noodle soup, potato chips and cookie or bar for $10 per meal.

Silent Auction items will be displayed inside the Pavilion for anyone who would like to walk through the display of numerous items. Bidding for all the Silent Auction items will be done entirely online this year. Photos with descriptions of each item will be entered into the online auction website, which is hosted by Sweeney Auction Service. Visitors to the drive-through Fantasy are welcome to park and enter the Pavilion any evening of the event to view all of the silent auction items and learn how they can bid on them online. Anyone anywhere, whether they attend the Fantasy or not, is welcome to watch and bid on any items they are interested in until the auction ends at 7 p.m. Monday night, November 22.

Santa Claus will be on the Christmas Fantasy grounds Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from 5:30-7 p.m. He will be available to visit with children and listen to their wish list and pose for photos as well. A mail box for sending letters to the North Pole will also be on site for anyone who wants to get their letter to Santa sent early.
