Kee baseball team wins three of four games, undefeated week snatched away in bottom of final inning at Wapsie Valley, 2-1

The Kee baseball team played one of its lightest weekly schedules of the season this past week and came within a single run of making it an undefeated week of competition. The Hawks opened the week with a 9-6 win at Janesville Monday, June 12 before pulling out a 2-1 triumph at home against Turkey Valley Tuesday, June 13. Kee then brought home a 6-1 win from MFL/MarMac Thursday, June 15 before suffering its only loss of the week, a 2-1 loss in the bottom of the seventh inning at Wapsie Valley Friday, June 16.

Standing at an 11-15 overall record at this point, including a mark of 7-4 in Upper Iowa Conference play, the baseball Hawks were next scheduled to play a varsity doubleheader at South Winneshiek Monday, June 19 and host Postville for the same Tuesday, June 20 before hosting Clayton Ridge Thursday, June 22 and then playing in the South Winneshiek Tournament Saturday, June 24. Kee’s diamond dwellers will then wrap up their regular season with a Monday, June 26 home doubleheader with North Fayette Valley before playing at the Waterloo Bucks Riverfront Stadium Wednesday, June 28, with Class 1A District Tournament play scheduled to get underway Saturday, July 1.
