Grant Hagen

Grant Lewis Hagen, 81, of Marion joined his Savior in glory Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Linn Manor in Marion. A Funeral Service was held Monday, August 28 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion with burial directly after at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

Grant was born February 1, 1942 in Waukon, the son of Grant Marcus and Leonora Constance (Anderson) Hagen. He was a graduate of Waukon High School and went on to attend Luther College. Grant came to know the Lord as his personal Savior March 31, 1968.

May 24, 1969, he was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Bakke in Waterville. He served as the Administrator at Linn Manor Long Term Care Facility for 40 years, including manager of Linn Manor Retirement Apartments. Grant was a member of the Marion Gospel Hall, The Civil Service Commission of the City of Marion, the Housing and Nuisance Board, the Corridor Woodcrafters Club and Linn County Jail Ministry.  He also served proudly in the Iowa National Guard.

His life was spent serving others and he was always willing to help anyone who had a need. He was always prepared to share his love for the Lord with a gospel tract in his pocket. Grant will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Grant is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Pat; his brother, Elmo (Sheri) Hagen; three brothers-in-law, Dean, Todd and Steven Bakke; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his infant sister, JoAnn Hagen; his brother, Alan Hagen; and his sister-in-law, Patricia Eash Hagen.
