A public Celebration of Life will be held from 1-5 p.m. Tuesday at TJ Hunters in Lansing.

Diane Marie Seitz, the daughter of LaVern and Florence (Sudol) Christoffer, was born July 31, 1955 in Waterloo. Diane graduated from Kee High School in Lansing in 1973. April 20, 1974, Diane married Roger Seitz at the Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Lansing and had two children, Tony and Terry. Roger passed away June 8, 1984.

Diane worked at the Learning Tree Daycare and enjoyed spending time with her many “daycare kids” and watching them grow over the years. Diane also worked at Blumenthal Lansing Company, retiring in 2016.

There were many things that Diane enjoyed, but her favorites were sewing, gardening, and watching her grandkids in their various activities. Diane could sew about anything; her most recent accomplishments were various quilts for family members.

Her love of gardening lasted year-round, starting many plants by seed and then transferring them to her greenhouse until it was time to plant. She was particularly fond of hostas and geraniums. While she enjoyed all these things, it was the family time, friendships and conversations that she treasured most. There was always so much to talk about and stories to share!

Diane is survived by her partner, Ed Renner of Lansing; her two sons, Tony (Rebecca) Seitz of Lansing and Terry (Richelle) Seitz of Newton; her grandchildren, Ashlyn, Tallyn and Taytem Seitz; her sister, Darlene (Rick) Parker of Waterloo; three brothers: Dave (Beth) Christoffer of Lansing, Dennis (Judy) Christoffer of Harpers Ferry and Don (Chris) Christoffer of Waterloo; her sisters-in-law: Nancy (Fred) Rethwisch of Lansing and Michelle (Don) Dee of Waukon; her brother-in-law, Jerry (Mickey) Seitz of Lansing; and many nieces and nephews.

Diane is reunited with her husband, Roger; her grandson, Austyn; her parents, LaVern and Florence Christoffer; her in-laws, John and Agnes Seitz; and her niece, Brandy Kay.

Honorary casketbearers are Stephanie Christoffer, Denise Mauss, Lisa Pearson, Edie Hogan, Charlotte Hill, Bill and Karen Ferring, and Randy and Marian Bohr. Casketbearers are Andy, Dalton, Danny and Ryan Christoffer, Pete Mauss and Christopher Parker.

A special thank you to the St. Croix Hospice staff, especially Mary, Jody, Carrie and Melissa, for the service, support and grace provided to Diane, allowing her to do things her way until the very end.
