Report of suspicious person leads to arrest and additional charges in connection with stolen vehicles near Waterville from June

Saturday, October 1, at approximately 7:44 a.m., the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Dispatch Center received a call of a suspicious individual and vehicle in the 700 block of 1st Avenue SW in Waukon. A Waukon Police Officer was dispatched to the location.

Upon investigation, it was determined that the suspicious vehicle was reported as stolen out of La Crosse County in Wisconsin. The suspect was observed by the officer in the 800 block of 1st Avenue NW. When law enforcement attempted to make contact, the suspect fled on foot and was pursued by the Waukon Police Officer and Allamakee County Sheriff’s Deputies. The suspect entered a garage behind a residence on West Main Street in Waukon where he was located by the officer and deputies.

The suspect, identified as Dillon Michael Heiller, age 37, was taken into custody and placed under arrest. Heiller was transported to the Allamakee County Jail where he was booked into jail on the following charges:
• Theft 1st Degree - Class C Felony (one count)
• Interference with Official Acts - Simple Misdemeanor (one count)
• Driving While License Denied, Suspended or Revoked - Non Scheduled Violation.

Heiller has also been charged in connection with an active investigation into the theft of multiple vehicles June 19 of this year around the Waterville area in Allamakee County. In connection with that investigation, he has additionally been charged with the following:
• Theft in the 1st Degree - Class C Felony (three counts)
• Felon in Possession of a Firearm - Class D Felony (one count)
• Trespass 1st Offense - Misdemeanor (two counts)
• Reckless Driving - Non-Scheduled Violation (two counts)
• Driving While License Suspended, Denied or Revoked - Non-Scheduled Violation (three counts)

Heiller is currently being held in the Allamakee County Jail on a $50,000.00 cash bond.
