32nd Annual VMH Foundation Christmas Fantasy ... The 2023 “Wishing You a Merry Grinchmas” Christmas Fantasy will be displayed throughout the Allamakee County Fairgrounds Pavilion November 10-13 at the Veterans Memorial Hospital Health Care Foundation’s 32nd annual event. Christmas Fantasy opens this Friday Night, November 10 at 5 p.m. with the “Tingle and Mingle” happy hour event. The Veterans Memorial Health Care Foundation’s Christmas Fantasy 2023 will be held Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, November 10, 11, 12 and 13, at the Allamakee Fairgrounds Pavilion. The theme will be, “Wishing You a Merry Grinchmas.”
The 2023 Fantasy Schedule of Events for this weekend includes:
“Tingle ‘N Mingle” Happy Hour
The Friday evening “Tingle ‘N Mingle” happy hour will be held November 10, from 5-8 p.m. This annual Friday night happy hour event is a special opportunity to meet socially with friends and co-workers after work. Many new hot and hearty hors d’oeuvres will be added this year, plus desserts, candies, and spirits will be served among the trees.
Each ticket includes all of the food plus two drink tickets. Tickets can be purchased now in advance at the main entrance of Veterans Memorial Hospital or at all local banks in Allamakee County. Tickets may also be purchased at the door.
Wine, Cheese and Dessert Event
Saturday evening, November 11, will feature a special wine, cheese and dessert event sponsored by Eagle’s Landing Winery of Marquette, the Empty Nest Winery of Waukon and Madigan Winery of Lansing. The event will begin at 7 p.m. Reservations are required for this event as seats are limited.
Call 563-568-4177 to make a reservation. The ticket includes refreshments, meat and cheese buffet, dessert, viewing of the decorations, and entertainment.
Fantasy Luncheons
Two special Christmas Fantasy Luncheons sponsored by the Allamakee Cattlemen’s Association will be offered Saturday, November 11 and Monday, November 13. Call 563-568-6262 to make a reservation for either of the luncheons.
Visits and Photos with Santa Claus
From 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, November 12, children will be given a special chance to see the Fantasy, plus have a visit with Santa Claus. Story telling by Sue Kiesau will add to the excitement.
General Viewing
The Christmas Fantasy 2023 event will be open to the public Saturday, November 11 from 2-5 p.m., Sunday, November 12 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. and Monday, November 13 from 2-7 p.m., offering entertainment from area piano students, harp students and artists. Complimentary Christmas treats and cider will be available during all these public showings.
Silent Auction
Each year there are more and more unique shopping opportunities on silent auction at the Fantasy. These are all available for purchase throughout the weekend through a silent auction with the highest bidder winning the purchase of the item when the auction ends at 7 p.m. Monday evening, November 13. Until that closing time, bidders can return, free of charge, to the Fantasy and raise their bid. All silent auction items are decorated and donated to the Foundation.
