VMH Waukon Medical Clinic extended hours remain popular; Wait times may occur on busy nights

The Veterans Memorial Hospital Waukon Medical Clinic extended hours have been a popular option since they began in early January. Walk-ins are welcome any Monday through Thursday evening from 4:30-6:30 p.m., allowing families to seek medical attention at a convenient time. Since this is a walk-in clinic without any scheduled appointments and some nights are busier than others, the wait time to see the provider may be longer. The Veterans Memorial Hospital (VMH) Medical Clinic in Waukon extended evening hours, that began in January, have been a popular option after work and school, allowing families to seek medical attention at a convenient time.
Patients are welcome to walk-in to the clinic between the hours of 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. any Monday through Thursday evening, without an appointment, for acute, non-emergent needs such as the following: broken bones (other than hips or femurs), cough/cold, diarrhea, ear aches, fever, flu, minor burns, minor cuts, muscle strain, pink eye, rash/hives, removal of foreign body, sinus infection, skin infection, sore throat, urinary tract infection and vomiting. Since this is a walk-in clinic without any scheduled appointments and some nights are busier than others, the wait time to see the provider may be longer.
“Since this is a walk-in clinic, we are not able to control the volume of patients who come in for care each evening, which means longer than normal clinic wait times are possible,” explains Laura Baxter, RN, Clinic Director. “Everyone has been so patient and just really appreciate having this after hours care as an option, so we are very thankful for that. Please know you will be cared for by our staff and provider as soon as possible. We hope you find the Veterans Memorial Hospital Waukon Clinic’s extended hours a great option for after-hours care.”
The VMH Waukon Medical Clinic’s weekly hours are Monday 7 a.m. - 7 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday, 7:30 am - 7 pm and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To make an appointment to see a provider at the Veterans Memorial Hospital Waukon Medical Clinic, call 563-568-5530, but walk-ins are welcome, without an appointment, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
