Allamakee Community Players to present "Bride of Frankenstein Goes Malibu"

Rehearsals are underway for the Allamakee Community Players production of the “Bride of Frankenstein Goes Malibu”, a comedy by Tim Kelly. Dr. Frankenstein has moved his household to sunny California, where he hopes to live undetected while searching for the perfect surfer. His seclusion isn’t easy, though, because it is complicated by detectives and visitors from Transylvania filled with all sorts of interesting characters that “funny” describes perfectly. And future generations are not always an improvement.
Performances are scheduled for Friday, October 29 and Saturday, October 30 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, October 31 at 2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waukon. The show will be over before 4 p.m., so attendees can still get home and turn their lights on for trick-or-treaters.
All seats are general admission, which will be discounted for tickets sold in advance. Doors open a half hour before the curtain raises. Tickets are available from any cast member or at the Rockweilers's in Waukon or by calling Kris Larson at 563-864-7766 or Karla Lubahn at 563-568-4640.
Kid, or even "kids at heart", who want to join in the fun of Halloween are invited to come to the show in costume. Bring a camera and have a photo taken on the set with cast members.
Directed by Kris Larson, the cast includes Waukon residents Jonathan Buhl as Dr. Frankenstein; Karla Lubahn as Mrs. Kane; George Troendle as Count Dracula; Vickie Larson as Vampira; Gwen Schroedel as Batty;  Cheri Turner as Effie; Zach Troendle as Jack O’Lantern; Terry Lubahn as Lum; Kate Wooden as Liza; and Linda Kerndt, Dick Riese and Mary Gohlke as the surfers.
From Lansing, Lynn Buhl will play the part of Sherman Homes. Also starring from Postville are Kris Larson as Mitzi and Mike Larson as the Monster Bride. And starring from Decorah are Kathryn Riehle as Igor and James Riehle as the Creature.
Those who would like more information may call Kris Larson at 563-864-7766 or 563-380-4531. Those thinking of getting dinner before or after the show, Gus & Tony’s Restaurant in Waukon is offering meal discounts, with some exclusions applying and a ticket necessary to receive the discount.
