Anderson's first-place Iowa Junior Duck Stamp entry is on display at Osborne Center

The 2012 Iowa Junior Duck Stamp winners are on exhibit at the Osborne Nature Center near Elkader until February 23. On display will be 36 pieces of artwork of waterfowl created by students throughout Iowa that were awarded first, second and third places, as well as thumbnails of the honorable mention winners. Among those top entries on display will be the one pictured above, the first-place entry submitted for the contest by 2012 Waukon High School graduate Brianne Anderson of Lansing before she graduated. The Iowa “Best of Show” for 2012 was Thompson Teasdale, age 14, of Davenport for his mallard pair in oil which was entered into the National Junior Duck Stamp Contest in Washington DC. The Junior Duck Stamp Program is a conservation program designed to teach students about waterfowl conservation and wetland habitat through art and science based curriculum.
