Mackenzie Lyons to perform July 20 with Celebration Iowa in Waukon

Celebration Iowa Singers and Jazz Band, an elite ensemble of Iowa high school musicians, announces upcoming performances in northeast Iowa. The ensemble will perform in Waukon Tuesday, July 20 at 7 p.m. at the Waukon High School, with tickets available in advance at discounted prices at all banks in Waukon and Lansing, and again in Decorah Friday, July 23, at 1 and 3 p.m., and Saturday, July 24, at 1 and 5 p.m., at 100 Claiborne Drive in conjunction with the annual Nordic Fest celebration. The show is organized by Nordic Fest, Inc. and there is no charge for admission.
Waukon High School graduated senior Mackenzie Lyons, daughter of Dennis and Sherri Lyons of Waukon, will be performing with the group again this summer. Having graduated from Waukon High School this past may, Lyons is in her third season with the group and joins a handful of other musicians from northeast Iowa in performing with Celebration Iowa this season.
Now in its 28th season, Celebration Iowa showcases the quality of Iowa high school music programs through its educational and service-oriented summer performance opportunity. Together with a staff of teachers and professionals, students in Celebration Iowa present a production that includes song, dance and jazz band favorites for audiences of all ages.
Celebration Iowa cast members are offered the opportunity to perform over 30 shows across the state while learning from some of Iowa’s finest teachers.
