Monday evening accident injures pair

Two Waukon residents were injured in a two-vehicle accident Monday, January 28 just before 7 p.m. on Old Highway 9 near Bluebird Road, just west of Waukon. In its initial report, the Iowa State Patrol explained that Andrew Lawson of Waukon, age 27, was traveling east on Old Highway 9 in a Jeep Cherokee Sport when it crossed the center line and collided with a westbound Honda Accord driven by Barbara Shull of Waukon, age 35. Both Shull and Lawson were transported by ambulance to Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, where their conditions were not being released as of Tuesday morning, January 29. Assisting at the scene were the Waukon Police Department, Allamakee County Sheriff’s Department and Waukon Fire and Rescue.
