One arrest made after investigation of Sunday morning vehicle thefts

Sunday, September 5, at approximately 4:34 a.m., the Allamakee County Sheriff's Office received a complaint of a vehicle being stolen from the Sportsman's Motel along Highway 76 near Dorchester. At approximately 4:44 a.m., Allamakee County Sheriff Deputies met the described vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 76 about four miles north of Waukon.
The deputies stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Michael Todd Hansen, age 31, of Waukon. Hansen was taken into custody and charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Operating Without Owner Consent, Operating While Intoxicated, and Driving While Suspended. Hansen was later released from the Allamakee County Jail on bond.
In a related matter, the Allamakee County Sheriff's Office continues its investigation into the theft of a semi truck and trailer owned by Waukon Feed Ranch that had been parked in the Waukon Tire Center parking lot along Highway 76 north of Waukon. The truck and trailer were found in the ditch at the intersection of Dorchester Drive and Highway 76 just east of Dorchester.
