Republican candidate debate set for May 21

The Allamakee County Republican Central Committee will be hosting a candidate debate Monday, May 21 for Republican candidates listed on the June 5 Primary Election ballot in Allamakee County. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Farm Bureau building, located at 14 First Avenue NE in Waukon.
Mark Kerndt of Waukon will serve as moderator, and will present questions to the candidates. The general public is invited to the debate and also encouraged to submit questions prior to the start of the debate for the moderator to ask of the candidates.
Republican candidates listed as participating in the debate include Pam Benjegerdes, Denise Beyer and Lana Deeney Snitker for Allamakee County Auditor, John Grampovnik and Clark Mellick for Allamakee County Sheriff, and Dan Bechtel and Dennis Koenig for Allamakee County Supervisor. Iowa Senate candidate Mike Breitbach and Iowa House candidate Bob Hager, both running unopposed in the June 5 Primary, are also scheduled to be on hand to address those in attendance.
