Volunteers needed to help install new Project Playground equipment at City Park Saturday

A pair of upcoming events are planned in accordance with progress being made in the Project Playground improvements at Waukon City Park organized by the Healing Hearts Infant Loss Support Group and the Veterans Memorial Hospital Nursing Council.
The success of the initial playground equipment improvement project near the Thompson Shelter in the middle of the park will come full circle, as the new equipment has been received and an installation day has been scheduled for this Saturday, June 9. The Playful Little Hearts Playground Installation will begin at 7 a.m. Saturday near the Thompson Shelter in middle of the park.
Volunteers are needed for technical installation and general labor, carrying and holding items instrumental to the installation process, as well as food service for the volunteers. Volunteers are needed to donate prepared food or drink for the people working to install the equipment, as well as volunteers needed to serve the food to the volunteers working on the installation.

A Project Playground Rummage/Bake Sale is scheduled for Saturday, June 23 at the Waukon Banquet Center from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Donations for the rummage sale will be accepted Thursday and Friday, June 21 and 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again from 5-8 p.m. at the Waukon Banquet Center. In addition to the rummage and bake sales, vendors will also be on hand selling a variety of items, with a portion of their sale proceeds being donated to the Project Playground cause. Watch for future advertising in the next two weeks for additional information on the June 23 event.
