Weekend ATV accident injures Waukon couple

The Allamakee County Sheriff's Office received a report of an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) accident around 5:14 p.m. Saturday, April 10 that hospitalized a Waukon couple. The accident report indicates that an ATV operated by Raymond Matthew Mahr, age 42, of Waukon overturned on Highway 76 near its intersection with County Road A26, ejecting both him and his wife, 50-year-old Donna Jean Mahr of Waukon. Both occupants were transported to Gundersen-Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI, where they were each listed in good condition as of Tuesday morning, April 13.
Assisting at the scene of the accident were the Eitzen, MN Fire Department and First Responders, Caledonia, MN Ambulance Service, Veterans Memorial Hospital Ambulance Service in Waukon, the Allamakee County Sheriff's Office and the Iowa State Patrol. The accident remains under investigation by the Allamakee County Sheriff's Office.
