Wellness Fair moved to February 6 to help kick off Wellness Challenge

The Live Healthy Iowa Kick-Off Wellness Fair scheduled for January 30 has been rescheduled to February 6 due to the winter weather. Veterans Memorial Hospital and the Waukon Wellness Center is encouraging the community to participate in Live Healthy Iowa, a well-rounded statewide wellness program, and will offer various wellness events throughout the 10-week program.
The free wellness fair will now be held Wednesday, February 6 at the Waukon Wellness Center from 4-7 p.m. The Waukon Wellness Center staff will be assisting anyone who would still like to register for Live Healthy Iowa and would like help with the online program. They will also be performing free body fat tests.
Veterans Memorial Hospital staff will be offering blood pressure checks, resting heart rate checks, blood sugar/diabetes testing, and height/weight measurements, all free of charge. Cholesterol tests with immediate results will also be offered for a fee. In addition, hospital dietitians will be on site with nutritional information and suggestions.
Registration for Live Healthy Iowa is going on now.  Teams are encouraged to sign up now, or wait for assistance during this upcoming wellness fair. Each team member will receive a Live Healthy Iowa t-shirt and a free magazine subscription to one of many popular magazines. To get a team signed up, go to www.livehealthyiowa.org and click the sign-up button.
The Live Healthy Iowa 10-week challenge runs through April 5, 2013.
