Women's Lenten Ecumenical Breakfasts to begin March 17

The first Women’s Lenten Ecumenical Breakfast will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waukon, with a change in the usual rotation for this year. The first breakfast will be Thursday, March 17 at 6:45 a.m. All women in the area are invited to attend.
Joan Moody and her daughter, Brenda Dougherty, will present the program at St. John’s about child sponsorship entitled “Making a Difference-One Child At a Time.” This program may inspire many women to help make a difference. Moody is retired and lives in Waukon. She enjoys spending special time with her grandchildren, reading, gardening, and quilting. Dougherty and her husband, Dave, have an acreage west of Waukon. They are the parents of five children. Consequently, she is a busy mom who is active in many school and church activities, and she also works at Winneshiek Mutual Insurance in Decorah.
The remaining schedule for the Women’s Lenten Ecumenical Breakfast dates includes:
• March 24 - St. Patrick’s Catholic Church
• March 31 - Presbyterian Church
• April 7 - Zion United Church of Christ
• April 14 - St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
